St. Peter’s, Nova Scotia - Village on the Canal

Our village of about 900 people thrives on its music – and we are delighted to have you all visiting for Music Camp weekend. St. Peter’s is located on a historic Canal – actually a National Historic Site, and the oldest operating tidal lock in North America. Situated on a narrow peninsula betwixt the salty Bras d’Or Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean, we occupy a very special place in Cape Breton, and one that has been a hub of transportation and communication for perhaps 10,000 years.

Music Camp on the Canal is made possible by a handful of local organizations who are sharing their facilities for our hospitality and workshop sessions – all convenienty located a short walk or drive from our Main Lodge at the Bras d’Or Lakes Inn.
